  4. learn how to analyze California Laws and their impact on housing and accessibility.

In August of 2021, after leaving the Division of the State Architect, Headquarters Office, Susan founded Access Compliance Consulting. She is the sole proprietor of her woman-owned business. She’s using her thirty-plus years of experience to provide training, consulting, and publications on accessibility in the built environment.

Susan develops and delivers online and in-person access compliance training and is an AIA Continuing Education Services provider. The training is based on Federal and state regulations and codes. Susan has developed expertise in the myriad of privately funded and public housing regulations and has published a guidance document based on those regulations.

She is a member of International Code Council (ICC), Certified Access Specialist Institute (CASI), American Institute of Architects (AIA), and the Accessibility Professionals Association (APA).
